Definitions
Pollution Prevention -- The use of materials, processes, or practices which reduce or
eliminate the creation of pollutants or wastes at the source, or minimize their release into the
environment prior to recycling, treatment, or disposal. It includes practices that reduce the use of
hazardous materials, energy, or water or other resources. It also includes practices that protect
natural resources and human health through conservation, more efficient use, or effective release
minimization.
Small Business -- A business which employs 20 or fewer employees and is
independently owned and operated, or "small business" as defined in the Clean Air Act
Amendments of 1990.
