2012 P2 Week Activities
P2 Week Video Contest
The California Department of Toxic Substance Control and the Western Sustainability and Pollution Prevention Network are sponsoring a Pollution Prevention Week video contest. The theme for the video contest is “what’s your footpint?”. The video submission deadline is September 12, 2012. For more information view the flyer.
Colorado
During P2 Week 2012, volunteers from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment will participate in the fall Clean-up of their adopted portion of the Cherry Creek trail. The trail runs right across the street from their office and they are in their 14th year of clean-ups. The number of participants ranges from 20-80 depending on swag, weather and schedules. This timing gives them a chance to promote P2 Week within the Department.
Indiana
The Indiana Partners for Pollution Prevention are hosting the 15th Annual Pollution Prevention Conference and Trade Show on Thursday, September 20. To learn more about this conference go to, http://www.in.gov/idem/4451.htm.
Michigan
The Missaukee Conservation District, in Michigan, is hosting a Tire and Electronics collection, 9/22/12, 9 am to 1 pm, Missaukee County Road Commission, 1199 N. Morey Road, Lake City. First 7 tires are free, additional small tires are $2, large $5. For Missaukee County residents.
Region 3
The Rachel Carson Homestead is teaming up with Region 3 EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Silent Spring and Pollution Prevention Week on Thursday, September 20. The Rachel Carson Homestead is located in Springdale, PA.
