If you are responsible for, or interested in, finding ways to be more sustainable, to prevent pollution, to reduce unnecessary adverse impacts, and the following topics are not already integrated into your organization’s practices, this event could be very useful for you.

JOIN US REMOTELY on May 6, from 2:30 – 4:30, as we discuss how to protect your facility and the environment in which it exists. We will talk about:

HOW TO BE SAFE FROM WILDFIRES. Michelle Steinberg, Wildfire Prevention Specialist, National Fire Protection Association, one of the nation’s leading experts on this topic, will tell you how to prepare your surroundings in order to reduce the danger of wildfire. This was once a topic for certain areas but it is now knowledge that needs to be more widely held and used.

SWITCHING FROM FOSSIL FUELS IN LAWN CARE. George Carrette, of Eco-Quiet Lawn Care and a member of the American Green Zone Alliance, is a pioneer of electrical lawn care, which has many environmental and health advantages over gas, but which takes some understanding of the approach for it to be practical and to pay off. George’s business has been growing steadily because he knows how to do that and will explain some of the basics you need to know.

IDENTIFY AND ACT ON INVASIVES. (TBA)

The speakers will take questions and there will also be time for open discussion of other topics related to sustaining the grounds surrounding facilities.

This event has been organized by the new P2 Professionals Workgroup of the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable, with the help of students at Boston University, for companies and institutions - any organization with grounds to take care of, and interested in having a positive impact on the world around them.
